How to Play Gomoku

Gomoku is a classic strategy board game for two players. The objective is simple: place five stones of your color in a row before your opponent.

Basic Rules

• The game is played on a 15×15 board.
• Players alternate placing stones, Black goes first.
• The first player to align five stones horizontally, vertically, or diagonally wins.
• In this version, we use freestyle rules — no restrictions on double-three or double-four.

Tips for Beginners

• Start near the center of the board.
• Try to build threats in multiple directions simultaneously.
• Always watch for your opponent's threats and block them.
• An open four (unblocked four in a row) almost always wins.
